M/Y JULES VERNE – 60′ – 2000
Designed by René van der Velden, built by Vitters Shipyard in 2000. Refitted in The Netherlands in 2018. Vitters Shipyard, known for superyacht sailing yacht construction, who built this yacht to absolute superyacht standards.
lt is evident no expenses were spared when she was originally commissioned. There are amazing details, both on and below decks. Beautiful, custom made, stainless steel fittings and a lavish classic mahogany interior combined with white panels. Again with amazing details like for example wood carved dolphins and eye catching skylights in each of the 3 cabins.
During the last refit the topsides were painted in Awlgrip Carinthia Blue.
The exterior woodwork was stripped to bare teak and varnished with 12 coats of Awlwood varnish. Below the water line the hull was sanded back, treated with primer and new coats of antifouling were applied. Furthermore 2 new Teignbridge 5 blade propellors were installed and all shaft seals were replaced. Both engines and the generator received a full service. Fuel tanks cleaned and some fuel pipes replaced. Hydrauilic systems serviced. Replacement of main and engine batteries and battery switches . New zinc anodes, new gas springs for the hatches. Service of the bow and stern thrusters. All this work ensures she is ready to be enjoyed for the coming years.
