Hoek Design – Weatherly – 65′ – 2002
Weatherly was designed specifically for single-handed sailing and achieved the highest speed possible from a 65-foot boat. To meet these ambitious targets, this deep-draught boat has a displacement of just eighteen tonnes – equivalent to that of a Volvo 60! No option was left unexplored in the effort to keep the boat as lightweight as possible, and she was built in West epoxy with carbon spars, 3DL sails and a carbon rudder.
While Weatherly has many similarities with our Truly Classic 65 design, she has shorter overhangs and the deckhouse was entirely customised to the requirements of the owner. The fact that this superb boat has won races against yachts in the 80-foot size bracket speaks volumes about her performance.
Weatherly has been superbly maintained and represents a truly and unique concept, fulfilling the needs of the discerning owner who loves to participate in regatta sailing, weekending and short sailing holidays.
